ROSS County extended their unbeaten run to 17 games with a 3-0 Irn Bru Division One victory against Livingston at Victoria Park on Saturday.

Top scorer Colin McMenamin grabbed a brace and Sam Morrow scored late to put County five points clear of second placed Falkirk, having played two games less.

County started well and referee John McKendrick controversially disallowed a third-minute goal for the home side, shortly after ignoring a County penalty claim.

McMenamin made the breakthrough after 27 minutes, after a period of pressure in the Livi box.

For all their passing ability, the visitors were unable to create a concrete goalscoring opportunity, and were content to launch balls up the park in the final minutes of the half.

As with the first, the hosts started the second half brightly, probing Livi's unsettled defence.

County manager Derek Adams made a double switch after an hour, replacing the ineffectual Rocco Quinn with Steven Craig, and Michael Gardyne, who was earlier booked, with Mark Corcoran.

McMenamin scored his second after 81 minutes, after a headed effort by Grant Munro was reached by Livi 'keeper McNeil. McMenamin was on hand to smash in the rebound to put County in control with less than ten minutes left to play.

Iain Vigurs played substitute Morrow through for a cool finish, as County cruised to a strong victory, further boosting their promotion claim.

Queen of the South beat Morton 2-1 in the only other game that survived the freeze in the division.
