FORT William fell to a 3-1 Highland League home defeat to lowly Brora Rangers on Saturday.
Fort went ahead in the 48th minute through Sean Ellis, after a first half where they could have sealed the points, had they taken their chances.
Gary Kerr’s equaliser was followed by a Liam Baxter strike as Brora moved in on a win.
The visitors' third came when a Fort player was receiving treatment, and Liam Baxter pounced on an uncontested bounce ball.
Instead of playing it into a safe area for Fort, Baxter launched it into the net, much to the annoyance of Fort manager Danny Conlon.
Conlon was sent to the stands for his outburst at Baxter, and the goal stood.
to wrap up the points for Brora, who sit nine points ahead of Fort, having played six games more.
Deveronvale kept the pressure on the top five with a 2-0 win over Wick Academy.
Fraserburgh halted Buckie Thistle’s title charge with a 1-0 win, and Forres Mechanics kept their hold on top spot with a 3-0 away win at Lossiemouth.
Nairn County’s Station Park fixture against Cove Rangers was called off because of a frozen pitch, and Clach were unable to play against Turriff United, the Aberdeenshire club’s pitch also falling foul of the ice.
Rothes’ game against Keith, Huntly’s visit to Strathspey Thistle and the game between Formartine United and Inverurie Locos were all postponed due to frozen pitches.
