FORT William slumped to a 4-0 Highland League loss at title-chasing Buckie Thistle, with Danny Conlon’s men unable to stop the free-scoring Victoria Park side.

Shawn Scott opened the scoring after 15 minutes, and Buckie’s lead was doubled eight minutes before the break by big-money signing Mark Chisholm.

Davie Macrae made it 3-0 seconds later, and Lewis MacKinnon got the better of a strong second-hald defensive performance by Fort in the 90th minute to round off the scoring.

Fort remain three points off bottom spot, and have six games in hand over basement club Strathspey Thistle, who were outclassed 6-0 by rampant Keith.

Nairn County’s 1-1 draw at Formartine United put their title bid in further doubt, with the Wee County now sitting seven points adrift of top spot.

Conor Gethins put the visitors ahead, but sustained pressure ensured both sides had to settle for a point.

Nairn are seven points adrift of league leaders Forres Mechanics, who saw off Inverurie Locos 2-0, having played two games more.

Cove Rangers have a five point lead over Nairn, after easing past Turriff United 3-0.

Lossiemouth’s trip to Huntly ended in a fine 1-0 win for the visitors.

Brora were unable to contain a spirited Deveronvale side, the Banff outfit running out 6-3 winners.

Clach’s game against Fraserburgh was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, and Wick Academy were unable to host Rothes, after the pitch was deemed unplayable.
