FORT William FC fans celebrated last night as steps were taken to stabilise the Highland League club.
A number of vital posts were filled at Wednesday night’s Extraordinary General Meeting at Claggan Park.
The club appointed Derek MacGillivray as chairman, and Ronnie MacLean was made club secretary.
Margaret Byron has been given the role of match day secretary, while James and Frances Campbell have returned to the club. Former vice-chairman John Corbett snr has formed a sub committee with outgoing chairman John Watssman to ensure the club meets the SFA’s Club Licensing criteria.
There had been real fears the club would have to fold after the secretary and chairman roles were not filled at the annual general meeting on May 16 and the Fort William community was urged to rally to the Claggan side's cause ahead of last night's EGM.
Meanwhile, fixtures for the 2012-2013 Highland League season have been released.
Fort kick-off their campaign with a home tie against Lossiemouth on August 4.
They host rivals Clach in the first fixture of the traditional festive double-header on December 22 and travel to Inverness one week later, on December 29.
The season is scheduled to finish on April 6, when Fort travel to Brora Rangers.
