Yvonne's 10 Years Younger transformation the video

A HIGHLAND News Group competition to make a woman look 10 years younger with an £8,000 makeover has left her feeling 21 again. And you can watch the video here of her remarkable transformation.

Yvonne McLeod, the winner of the Highland News Group contest, was greeted by a massive crowd who cheered and clapped as she made her glamorous entrance to show off her new look in Inverness on Sunday.

The 46-year-old, who was pampered and preened during the 12-week transformation, said she was delighted.

She told the crowd outside Debenhams, which had provided Yvonne with new outfits and jewellery from Jon Richards to go along with her new sensational look: "I am over the moon. I am delighted with everything that I have had done. I feel amazing.

"Before this I was feeling a bit down and I had no energy, but that has all changed."

At the start of the makeover, Yvonne a janitor at Coulhill Primary School in Alness described herself as being downtrodden and haggard and said she wanted to get rid of her jelly belly and feel rejuvenated.

But with help from a top team of beauticians, hair stylists, personal trainers, a dentist and a personal shopper, she says she feels like a whole new woman.

Throughout the transformation, Yvonne has been put through her paces at the Fit4Less gym in Harbour Road, Inverness.

She has been given botox and a range of other cosmetic treatments from Frances Turner Traill, of Harley Aesthetics Scotland, and she has been given a new set of pearly whites from the Eden Dental Clinic in Inverness.

And to top off her new look, Lynda Dick from Hair Directory in Inverness worked her magic and gave Yvonne a great new hairstyle.

"Everyone has been wonderful to me," said Yvonne. "The trainers at Fit4Less were brill and now I feel about 21 and that is down to the work I put in at the gym.

"I was nervous about getting the botox done and about the needles but Frances was amazing and the work has had such an impact.

"I was most excited about getting my teeth done. I love my new teeth."

Last week we told how Yvonne was hoping for hair extensions, but instead she was given a sassy short do which she was also delighted with.

"I love my hair. I love everything," she said.

And there was high praise from the man who knows Yvonne best, her husband of 24 years, Allan.

Handing her a bouquet of flowers, he said: "Wow! I can safely say she looks stunning.

"She has been on a high since she was picked for this competition. She is a great wife and a great mother and she works hard at Coulhill too, nobody deserved this more. She is a different woman altogether and I can't wait to get her home."

Frances Turner Traill said: "We picked Yvonne as she was so enthusiastic and we knew that she would commit to the 12-week makeover. She really, really wanted this and she was the perfect candidate. She looks amazing."

Lynda Dick added: "She has been a worthy candidate, she has had to come to so many appointments and she has made every one."

Stuart Main, of Fit4Less, said Yvonne was a delight to work with. He said: "She looks stunning. She had a great figure before, but she was not all that fit. We pointed her in the right direction and now her fitness levels are so much better. She has done fantastically well."

Catriona Hicks, of the Eden Dental Clinic, said: "We were delighted from the start. She made our job very easy and we are so delighted for her."
